Rendericia: Roots Maintenance -
Larry and I got our roots fixed up yesterday!
It only took five hours -_____-
However, it was the most I’ve ever successfully negotiated the price of something, and I feel like that was a lesson in itself.
So there were little bits of hair that were breaking at the roots, and sticking out all…
Rendericia: Adult Life: Day 11 -
Woke up.
Got delicious mediterranean hummus/chicken type sandwich at Stardust. Yum!
Larry got a few hundred records. JK, just the new Best Coast, Beach House, some old Shins (Oh, Inverted World<3) and something else, I forget.
Finally bought my thank you cards! Now we just have to fill them…
Got the best-most-appropriate paperweight for Mutual Moon HQ! Maybe we should give our office a more lunar name… like CRATER CAVE! Or something.

Now don’t get me wrong! I love me some messy dreadies. But you see, I am now a college graduate. I can’t be walkin’ up on some post house, sporting a rat’s nest on my dome.
I figure maybe the suits will forgive my locks, if they’re neat and clean. Yeah?
P.S. My beautiful, dear mother got me that rainbow wrap! It was the sweetest thing ever. She even suggested that I buy a whole pack & sell them at Camp Bisco. Haha! Why is she so cool.
LOL I love this last one!!
A new post!
So I’m just laying here, compiling all my teams work that they submitted for our prospectus pitch, which is this Monday. (ahhh!) It’s all good work, but I have to pretty much recreate it all to be the same font/format/accents, etc. It’s time-consuming & annoying :)
Had a 5-6 Advanced Post Production lecture today, aced a quiz I took after class, then got a 100 on the final product of this month’s lab sessions. WOO. My favorite lab instructor said he was making the move up to NYC soon as well, and we exchanged cards & he said he would definitely call me for help! AHH that was exciting.
Larry’s caught the vinyl fever. He just sold his old pair/got a new pair of turntables, and at least 15 new albums including: Dr. Dre, The Beatles, The Shins, The XX, The Black Keys, Amy Winehouse, Minus The Bear, Air, Manchester Orchestra, etc etc etc
Needless to say, we are both very pleased. I know it makes Daddy roll his eyes, but we love it!
Haven’t been able to watch my tv shows OR play Skyrim in the longest time :( Anything recreational makes me feel guilty. Except long boarding! That’s totally worth it, always. I like getting out in the sun for a bit to stretch my legs, especially around 6/6:30 in the evening.
Working hard on finishing my demo reel. I have just a few more shots to get this weekend (hopefully tomorrow!!!) and then I’ll be able to complete it. That’s due Tuesday for ADP, but I’m more anxious to put it up on our website. Then I can (FINALLY!) schedule an appointment with Career Development and start sending out my stuff!
whew.
Okay so for As Ghosts, we had this one section where our main actor (Frank) speaks a poem, as it plays over a eulogy/montage (spoiler alert!) but because of production rushings, we never got a solid take of the poem in full.
SO as all of us are in the editing suites, trying to conclude this movie, we just have a bunch of silence over this montage, and we needed Frank to come in and record it for us.
So then I guess everyone decided that Tricia was the representative of this oh-so-necessary voiceover (just a lowly Boom Op, I was, suddenly promoted to Audio Post overseer!) So I tried to reserve time on the dubbing stage, but blah blah blah no one wants to be easy to work with, so I finally just asked Larry if he would help us out (and of course he said yes because he is a wonderful man and diligent worker.)
SOOO I texted Frank last week, set up today as an early afternoon voiceover session, and him & his lady arrived and we all had a grand time!
It was sort of exactly the stuff that Larry and I are interested in working on together — me, editing the story, and him, making it sound good. To actually have a product to work on though, is pretty cool.

Official graduation information: May 4th, have to be there to sign in at 9:45, and then the ceremonies will start at 10:45.
Please plan accordingly :)
It’s 10:45 so I feel like I should be going to bed, but I don’t have school tomorrow morning! SO weird! My IPC teacher took this week off, so we won’t be having any lectures.
BOO YAH.
So instead, I’ll be waking up and reading many chapters & completing many assignments in order to make up for the lost class time. Oh well!
This weekend was pretty fun. Friday night, I had lab until 9, then I walked Shorty for about an hour, imported some things into my Avid trial. Saturdayyy, I woke up at 12, went to my first MaryKay party (it felt very strange, not being a guest of my mom’s) and spent the rest of the day watching Dexter and doing IPC homework. At night, Larry and I used a Red Lobster gift card and then went to go see a DJ, Excision at the House of Blues. It was fun, but a very unexpectedly young crowd. (it also feels strange to say THAT)
Today I tried very hard to get work done, but couldn’t find any focus, so I gave in and played Skyrim for 3 hours. It was maaaahvelous. So all in all, this weekend has been relaxing, but I’m super excited to get back to editing tomorrow. This week, our instructors will sit down and watch our edits (what we have so far) and tell us what direction we need to go in, in order to finish them. SO PSYCHED. I need to finalize the paperwork this week, but Sammi and I should be turning in a very complete, tight edit. Meeting deadlines so readily feels awesome.
Here’s a screen shot of a short I’m working on [caught with my iPhone] about Shorty vs. Godzilla. It’s… very hilarious to me. Probably JUST to me, but that’s fine.
